As a graphic designer, a significant part of my work involves ordering printed items for my clients. Printing inevitably comes with an environmental impact, and while I make a conscious effort to minimise this by choosing recycled and sustainably sourced paper stock, I felt I wanted to go further than that.
That’s why back in 2022 I partnered with Ecologi, an organisation dedicated to climate action through reforestation and global carbon reduction projects. Each month, I fund the planting of 10 trees, which annually offsets 9 tonnes of CO²e. This commitment ensures that my business is 100% carbon neutral, covering all aspects of my operations, from the energy consumed in my office to the carbon footprint of my travel.
Ecologi not only helps me offset my emissions, but it also supports various impactful environmental projects around the world. These initiatives range from protecting forests to supporting clean energy solutions in developing countries, which contribute to a sustainable future on a larger scale. The email I get each month about the location of new trees and projects I’ve supported is one of my favourites to receive each month.

The graphic below shows the number of trees I’ve planted so far, and by clicking here, you can explore the many projects I’ve contributed to across the globe.
If you’re interested in signing up to Ecologi to offset your carbon footprint, they have a range of subscriptions for individuals, SME’s and large businesses. They even have API’s that can work with your website to plant trees for every purchase your customers make.
By using my referral link, Ecologi will plant 5 additional trees: https://ecologi.com/fivefootcreative?direct=true&r=636b9c8a693cab7846df795a
Ten tonnes of CO² is equivalent of 24,814 miles driven by the average car!
